Dyslexia is a neurologic disorder that affects the acquisition and processing of language.  It manifests in various difficulties with the different forms of language, such as phonological processing, reading, writing, handwriting, and arithmetic.  Dyslexia is a lifelong challenge requiring the application of strategies and skills to help compensate for processing difficulties.

Cheryl is highly qualified in identifying and working with dyslexia.  She received specialized training in Alphabetic Phonics, a program specifically researched and developed for dyslexic students. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to work with many individuals with dyslexia, and has enjoyed being part of their personal, academic, and professional development.
